census-designated place located in San Diego County,
California. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total
population of 26,663. The census area had a population
of 55,331 in 1990, but the population was cut in half
due to the creation of the new CDP of La Presa on the
western end of the Spring Valley area. If Spring Valley
remained intact, the 2000 census population would have
been 59,384. The Greater Spring Valley area has over
100,000 residents.

children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.8%
are married couples living together, 15.6% have a female

or older. The average household size is 2.90 and the
average family size is 3.27.
