- Richmond is a city located in Contra Costa County,
California. It is north of El Cerrito and Albany in
the East Bay of the San Francisco Bay Area. It almost
surrounds San Pablo. The Bay Area Rapid Transit and
Amtrak share a station there, which serves as a regional
transit interchange. As of a July 1, 2002 Census estimate,
the city has a population of 102,553.

average family size is 3.44.
